Para un egresado la obtención del título profesional representa el mayor logro en su formación universitaria, y en el caso de carreras vinculadas con la salud, constituye el requisito fundamental para realizar el SERUMS y otras acciones.
Es por ello, que la Facultad de Medicina Humana de la UPLA inició con éxito el cronograma de sustentaciones de tesis en la modalidad virtual, de esta forma brinda a sus egresados la oportunidad de continuar con sus procesos de titulación que quedaron pendientes a raíz de la pandemia por el Covid-19. Proceso innovador que inició en la UPLA.
Recientemente, la sinergia de esfuerzos realizados durante los últimos meses por parte de las autoridades académicas, personal administrativo y docentes de la Facultad de Medicina Humana de la Universidad Peruana Los Andes(UPLA) dio sus frutos. Por primera vez, uno de sus bachilleres sustentó virtualmente su tesis de grado.
Se trata de Juan Hurtado Felipe quién, disertó la tesis titulada: “Asociación entre depresión e inmunosupresión en pacientes con VIH en un hospital regional – Junín, 2018”, posterior a ello, tuvo que hacer frente a las preguntas formuladas por el jurado calificador, obteniendo finalmente la aprobación del trabajo de investigación y así, el título de médico cirujano.
Esta novedosa experiencia que da inicio a un programa de sustentaciones virtuales para más de cuarenta egresados de Medicina Humana, quienes fueron previamente considerados aptos para sustentar.
“Desde antes de la pandemia ya había un grupo de egresados que deseaban sustentar, fue en ese momento que buscamos una alternativa de solución y se empezó con los trámites pertinentes, logrando que en nuestra facultad sea aprobada la sustentación virtual tanto en pre y post grado” señaló el Dr. Roberto Bernardo Cangahuala, decano de la Facultad de Medicina Humana de la UPLA.
Para el director general de investigación, Dr. Miguel Mercado Rey, el factor principal que convierte en realidad la sustentación on-line de los futuros médicos en esta casa superior de estudio, se debe principalmente a la alta exigencia y desempeño de los estudiantes en el undécimo y duodécimo semestre, donde a través de las asignaturas de Seminario de Tesis I y Seminario de Tesis II elaboran su proyecto de investigación y deben presentar una cantidad de muestras de ello, a partir del cual, desarrollan sus informes finales, es decir, cuentan con sus tesis consolidadas antes de realizar el internado.
Referente al Servicio Rural y Urbano Marginal en Salud (SERUMS), requisito obligatorio que debe cumplir todo profesional de salud para optar por la segunda especialidad o para trabajar en un centro de salud público; cuyo proceso de admisión para el periodo 2020-I no fue reprogramado muy a pesar de la coyuntura actual donde se necesita de más personal médico en los centros de salud, Bernardo Cangahuala señaló que se está solicitando a las autoridades correspondiente la extensión de inscripción de dicho proceso, para que así, más médicos que vayan a ser titulados de forma virtual cuenten con la posibilidad de servir a la sociedad en esta dura batalla que se está librando.
