Huancayo, 22 de julio de 2014.- Preocupados por los altos indicadores de desnutrición en la región central del país, estudiantes y egresados de la Escuela Académico Profesional de Nutrición Humana de la Universidad Peruana Los Andes, investigaron diferentes temáticas que involucran el estado nutricional en los niños de diferentes distritos de la Sierra de la región Junín.
Las temáticas abordadas por los jóvenes investigadores fueron el aporte nutricional de los desayunos escolares del programa Qaly Warma, los factores estructurales que conllevan al estado nutricional de los niños menores de 5 años, los comportamientos alimentarios y sobrepeso, así como obesidad en niños de 7-12 años, la relación entre hábitos alimentarios y el estado nutricional de los adolescentes entre 10-17 años y otros trabajos.
Los investigadores egresados de la UPLA son: Katherine Arroyo, Karen Rupay, Nilber Andamayo, Marisol Arzapalo y los estudiantes Clara Yllesca, Roció García, Bill Oscátegui, Karen Solís, Patricia Camarena y Angela Barrera; asesorados por la directora de la Escuela Académico Profesional de Nutrición Humana, Mg. Rene Valle Elescano, el director de investigación, Dr. Juan Manuel Sánchez Soto, el jefe del departamento académico de Ciencias de la Salud, Mg. Wilfredo Huatuco Mateo.
Cada una de las investigaciones fueron desarrolladas en el marco del IV Coloquio de Investigación de egresados y estudiantes de Nutrición Humana, la aplicación del trabajo de campo se desarrolló en localidades como: San Agustín de Cajas, Chilca, Batanyacu-El Tambo, San Jerónimo, Yauli-La Oroya; entre otros.
